Core views on AI
Why we believe AI will change how the world works, why that makes reliability and safety urgent, and how those beliefs shape what ACATHRCA builds.
We started ACATHRCA because we believe AI will become one of the most important technologies people use, for work, for learning and for getting help. This note sets out the views that guide our decisions.
AI is improving quickly
Each year, AI systems take on harder tasks: longer documents, more complex code, multi-step work with tools. We plan as if that progress continues, rather than assuming it will stop.
Usefulness and safety go together
An assistant that is wrong, manipulative or easy to misuse is not useful, however capable it is. We treat reliability, honesty and safeguards as part of product quality, not as a separate tax on it.
Access matters
If capable AI is only affordable for a few, it will widen gaps between people and countries. We work on efficiency and pricing so that more people can benefit.
We should be accountable
We publish how we deploy models, what our products can and cannot do, and how we handle misuse, and we update those documents when our practice changes.
