Building an assistant that's still learning, out in the open

ChatGiZa's first commit is dated 28 July 2026. In the seven weeks since, the project has grown past 1,500 recorded changes. That pace is possible because it is a small team that ships in small steps, and because we would rather show real, unfinished work than wait for a perfect launch.

What exists today

  • ChatGiZa, the chat assistant, on the web and as an Android app, working in Swahili and English.
  • The ChatGiZa API, so other products can use the same assistant.
  • Build, a workspace for writing and running code with the assistant.
  • E-book, for writing and keeping your own books page by page.
  • Quantara, a media feed where the community shares posts.
  • ChackAll, a free storefront-link tool for small sellers.
  • A Help Center and this company site.

What building in the open means

Things change quickly and not every idea survives. Designs get redone once real use shows they did not work, and some changes get reverted. When something is not ready, the site says so: several ChackAll features are marked "Coming soon" rather than pretending to exist.

Why Swahili first

Mainstream AI tools are written mostly with English speakers in mind. ChatGiZa starts from the other direction: an assistant that answers naturally in Swahili, handles the mix of Swahili and English people really speak, and stays affordable. That is the reason the research areas on our Research page look the way they do.

Tell us what to fix

The fastest way to shape the assistant is to use it and tell us where it gets things wrong. Write to hello@wellxai.world, or use Get Help inside ChatGiZa.
